If you do not yet have a vocational qualification or do not yet know which profession you would like to work in, you can obtain information at a vocational information centre (BIZ) or online at Berufenet. There you will find information on all occupations, a description of the activities in this occupation and information on the qualifications required for this occupation. The staff at the BIZ or the employment agency can also tell you which professions will give you a good chance of finding a job in the Ruhr region. A list of occupations for which there are currently too few applicants in Germany can be found on the website mangelberufe.de. Have you found a suitable job advert? Now it's time to apply for it. To do this, first send your written application documents to the company you would like to apply to. A written application usually consists of a cover letter, CV and references. If you need help compiling your documents, you can find helpful tips at make-it-in-germany.de. You can also seek advice from various advice centres. You can find advice centres in your area, for example, at the migration advice centres for adults. The staff there speak many languages.
