Taking your family with you, settling into an initially unfamiliar environment and learning a new language is an additional challenge - for the whole family. There is a lot to organise in addition to starting a career in the Ruhr region - from finding accommodation to registering the children at a school and settling into the new environment.

INFORMATION ON FAMILY REUNIFICATION

Do you want your relatives to move to Germany, for example your spouse or registered partner, parents and unmarried children who are minors? The requirements normally depend on whether you

  • are a German citizen,
  • are an EU citizen or
  • are third-country nationals or third-country nationals.

The family members joining them are allowed to work in Germany. Information on the topic of family reunification can be found at the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees and on the federal government's portal Make  it in Germany.
